Biblical Holidays

Biblical Holidays
The Biblical feasts/holidays were designed to be shadow pictures of the Messiah (Colossians 2:17) who is the manifestation of God’s love (John 3:16).  They are yearly wedding rehearsals for the bride to keep them in His cycles of righteousness.  The feasts were designed to be outwards signs of His Word to the world.  The Word of God became flesh and dwelt among us, He is the fulfillment of these sabbaths.  The Word is the character/name of God (Revelation 19:13; Matthew 12:18-21 – Isaiah 42:1-4; Revelation 14:1; 22:4; Deuteronomy 6:6-8), which is love (1 John 4:8).  Built into the feasts/sabbaths is the will of God, the plan of salvation for mankind, not their condemnation (2 Peter 3:9; 1 Timothy 2:4).

Lev 23:2  Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

The Feasts are designed to reveal the Messiah

YHWH’s plan for the salvation of humanity is shown by the seven feasts He gave to ancient Israel in Leviticus 23.  He told the people to celebrate these feasts as “lasting ordinances.” The seven feasts are patterns that describe the two comings of Yahshua the Messiah/Jesus the Christ.

The Spring Feasts picture the 1st coming of the Messiah.

The Fall Feasts picture His 2nd coming.

Hos 6:3  Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter (spring) and former (autumn) rain unto the earth.

His Sabbaths and Feasts are a sign that YHWH is the Creator

Exo 31:16  And the sons of Israel shall observe the Sabbath, to do the Sabbath for their generations; it is a never ending covenant.
Exo 31:17  It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

Christian Holidays

The following studies will attempt to show how the holidays passed down in Christendom have shadow pictures of the Messiah embedded within them.

One major aspect of man is his religious ceremonies/holidays.  As I’ve studied ancient history and religions, a repeating theme is seen.  Truth mixed with error.  All religions of the world have some truth which traces back to the Holy Scriptures and ultimately the Tree of Life.  However, they are mixed with lies which reveals that they are producing fruit from the tree of knowledge which is a counterfeit of the Tree of Life. Nonetheless, no matter how far removed from the truth a particular religion is, there is still some truth within, a glimmer of light which calls man to His Creator, through Messiah Yahshua/Jesus. All religions have some truth which is a gift of grace to all of mankind to draw us back to the Most High (2 Peter 3:9; 1 Timothy 2:4; 4:10), for He is the God of all.

Following are treatise on the corruptions of the holidays celebrated in Christendom.   These studies are not shared to condemn believers who are keeping these holidays but admonish them to look at why they should reconsider.  For those who would condemn such believers, please see the studies at the bottom of the page on the shadow pictures of the Messiah found in these holidays.  YHWH, in His great love, still reveals Himself in these holidays.  The author’s contention is that as believers we are to grow in maturity and leave behind the way of the heathen and walk in the purity of His Word.
